After several large shareholders demanded his resignation, Travis Kalanick has left Uber, the company he founded and of which he was chief executive officer.

The New York Time reported the story:

Travis Kalanick, the company’s co-founder, had been under increasing pressure, and several major investors demanded that he resign immediately.

The move caps months of questions over the leadership of Uber, which has become a prime example of Silicon Valley start-up culture gone awry.

He had been planning to take a leave of absence and return will lessened duties.
