Headquartered in Frederick, MD Fiscal year ends December NASDAQ: RNAC cartesiantherapeutics.com
Cartesian Therapeutics is a late clinical-stage biotechnology company developing cell therapies for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. Its lead asset, Descartes-08, is an autologous anti-BCMA CAR-T therapy in Phase 3 development for generalized myasthenia gravis (MG), Phase 2 development for myositis (dermatomyositis and antisynthetase syndrome), and Phase 1/2 development for pediatric autoimmune diseases including juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM). Unlike conventional DNA-based CAR-T therapies, Cartesian's approach uses mRNA-based engineering and is designed to be administered in outpatient settings without preconditioning chemotherapy, avoiding the risk of genomic integration associated with cancerous transformation. The company has also partnered with WestGene BioPharma to explore in vivo CAR-T delivery using targeted lipid nanoparticles combined with Cartesian's mRNA payloads. Descartes-08 has received Orphan Drug Designation, Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy Designation for MG, and Rare Pediatric Disease Designation for JDM from the FDA. The company trades on NASDAQ under the ticker RNAC. Updated
