Halliburton delivered a mixed first quarter for 2025, posting adjusted earnings that landed just shy of expectations while revenue came in ahead of forecasts, even as broad-based activity weakness dragged the top line sharply lower year over year. The primary drag came from softness across the Western Hemisphere, with North America revenue falling 12% year over year on reduced stimulation activity and Latin America sliding 19% largely due to curtailed operations in Mexico. A $356.00 million pre-tax impairment and restructuring charge pushed GAAP net income down sharply to $204.00 million, though adjusted operating income held at $787.00 million with a 14.5% margin. Adding to the cautious tone, Halliburton warned that tariffs are expected to shave $0.02 to $0.03 per share from second-quarter earnings, as producers reassess drilling plans amid persistently low oil prices.
