About Satellos Bioscience
Satellos Bioscience Inc. is a clinical-stage Canadian biotechnology company focused on restoring natural muscle repair and regeneration in degenerative muscle diseases. The company's lead drug candidate, SAT-3247, is an orally administered small molecule inhibitor of Adaptor Associated Kinase 1 (AAK1), designed to re-establish dystrophin-dependent muscle stem cell signaling that is disrupted in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). SAT-3247 is being evaluated as a potential disease-modifying treatment independent of dystrophin and applicable regardless of exon mutation status, either as a stand-alone or adjunctive therapy. Two Phase 2 clinical trials are underway: BASECAMP, a 51-patient randomized placebo-controlled pediatric study in ambulatory boys with DMD aged 7-9, and TRAILHEAD, a 12-month open-label study in adolescent and adult DMD patients. The company's proprietary discovery platform, MyoReGenX, is used to identify additional muscle diseases where restoring muscle regeneration may have therapeutic benefit, including facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD), for which the company plans to initiate a Phase 2 trial in H2 2026. SAT-3247 has received FDA Orphan Drug Designation, Rare Pediatric Disease Designation, and Fast Track designation for DMD. Satellos has wholly owned subsidiaries in Australia and the United States and its common shares are listed on both the Nasdaq Global Market (MSLE) and the Toronto Stock Exchange (MSCL). The company holds an exclusive worldwide license from the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute covering five patent families related to its muscle regeneration technology. Updated
