MGIC Investment Corp specializes in providing private mortgage insurance and a range of mortgage credit risk management solutions. Founded in 1957 and based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, it supports lenders by offering protection against defaults on individual loans. This includes covering unpaid loan principal and related expenses. MGIC also offers pool insurance for mortgage transactions in the secondary market, along with underwriting services and reinsurance. Its clients range from mortgage brokers to commercial banks and other lending institutions across the United States, including Puerto Rico and Guam.
