Did PINS Beat Earnings? Q2 2025 Results
Pinterest delivered a mixed second quarter for fiscal 2025, posting revenue of $998.23 million, a 16.9% year-over-year gain that cleared the $975.52 million consensus estimate by 2.33%, yet falling short on the bottom line with non-GAAP EPS of $0.33 against analyst expectations of $0.35, a 6.17% miss that sent shares tumbling nearly 13% in after-hours trading. The earnings shortfall reflected elevated share-based compensation of $227.23 million, which weighed on profitability even as adjusted EBITDA climbed 33% year over year to $250.78 million. A key driver of the revenue beat was accelerating international monetization, with European revenue surging 34% and Rest of World revenue jumping 65%, complementing an 11% gain in the core U.S. and Canada segment. The company also reached an all-time high of 578 million monthly active users, up 11% year over year, with Gen Z now representing more than half the user base. Looking ahead, Pinterest guided Q3 2025 revenue to $1.03 billion to $1.05 billion, implying 15% to 17% growth, with adjusted EBITDA expected between $282 million and $302 million.
