Sachem Capital Corp. is a mortgage REIT listed on NYSE American that specializes in originating, underwriting, funding, servicing, and managing a portfolio of loans secured by first mortgages on real property. The company offers short-term (one to three year), secured, nonbanking loans to real estate investors to fund their acquisition, renovation, development, rehabilitation, or improvement of residential and commercial properties. Sachem's primary underwriting criterion is a conservative loan-to-value ratio. The company also makes opportunistic real estate purchases apart from its lending activities through its in-house asset management and development platform, Urbane Capital. Sachem is currently pursuing a transformational combination with Industrial Realty Group (IRG), under which IRG would contribute 98 industrial assets to create IRG Realty Trust, a combined entity focused on mission-critical industrial infrastructure supporting manufacturing and distribution users, with an implied enterprise value of approximately $3.4 billion.
