U.S. consumer confidence sank in November on growing concerns about the future, the Conference Board reported Tuesday. The consumer confidence index fell to 87.3 from 95.2, well below the 90.2 expected by economists surveyed by MarketWatch.

The financial news site writes "the decline in November was driven by a big drop in expectations, fueled by higher energy prices and falling prices for stocks and homes."
