Tropical Storm Isaac is expected to be Hurricane Isaac early next week as it approaches the United States.  While this has listed a bit more to the west in direction since the projections by the National Hurricane Center made yesterday, this storm is now a threat to southern Florida and the Republican National Convention.  Unfortunately, this storm is now also showing that the projected cone does put the storm closer to parts of the Gulf of Mexico oil and gas offshore infrastructure.

Another development has come about since the 8 AM advisory as well.  We now have two named Tropical Storms in the Atlantic.  Tropical Depression 10 has now been upgraded and is officially named Tropical Storm Joyce.  The only good news about Joyce is that this storm is not expected to pose any threat to the Eastern Seaboard as of now.  The projected cone path from the National Hurricane Center has the storm traveling northwest but between Sunday and Monday it is projected to begin moving more northward before veering back out North/Northeast without ever coming close to the Eastern Seaboard.
