The good news is that shower activity has been reported as less organized. A tropical depression is not expected to form today but the NOAA report says that environmental conditions remain favorable for further development as it heads toward the Bahamas on a West-Northwest trajectory. NOAA gives this a high chance at 60% of becoming a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours.
As with all storms, where it ends up is dependent upon many factors. Still, heavy rain is expected. So far, the Gulf of Mexico clean-up operations has avoided any major storms as the storm activity has not produced a direct hit to the area. Unfortunately, there is still about 100 days of hurricane season left.
