Top Health Care Earnings Coming Next Week

This current quarter ahead of the election could very well set a different direction for this sector, after it has taken a beating on the campaign trail and in recent congressional hearings.

Note that the earnings and revenue estimates may change ahead of the formal reports, and some companies may reschedule reporting dates as well.

Biogen Inc. (NASDAQ: BIIB) is set to report its most recent results on Wednesday. The consensus estimates from Thomson Reuters call for earnings per share (EPS) of $5.01 and $2.91 billion in revenue. Shares were changing hands at $290.65 on Friday’s close. The 52-week range is $223.02 to $333.65.

Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ: AMGN) is scheduled to report its third-quarter results on Thursday. The consensus estimates are $2.79 in EPS and $5.73 billion in revenue. Shares were at $158.51 as last week came to a close. The consensus price target is $189.41, and the 52-week range is $139.02 to $176.85.

BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. (NASDAQ: BMRN) is set to share its latest quarterly earnings on Thursday. The consensus estimates call for a net loss of $0.38 per share on $289.7 million in revenue. Shares were at $82.28 on Friday’s close, in a 52-week range of $62.12 to $118.48. The consensus price target is $119.06.

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (NYSE: BMY) is expected to reveal its third-quarter results on Thursday as well. The consensus forecast calls for $0.64 in EPS, as well as $4.79 billion in revenue. The stock ended last week at $82.28 per share. The consensus price target is $64.90, and the 52-week range is $49.10 to $77.12.

Celgene Corp. (NASDAQ: CELG) also will to share its latest quarterly earnings on Thursday. The consensus estimates call for $1.48 in EPS and $2.84 billion in revenue. Shares were at $98.91 as Friday’s trading ended, in a 52-week range of $93.05 to $128.39. The consensus price target is $137.39.

AbbVie Inc. (NYSE: ABBV) also is scheduled to report its third-quarter results on Friday. The consensus analyst estimates call for $1.20 in EPS and revenue of $6.55 billion. Shares closed at $60.98 on Friday. The consensus price target is $71.21. The 52-week range is $48.64 to $68.12.
