Markets in Europe were narrowly mixed at 6.25 AM New York time.
The FTSE rose .4% to 6,508. Barclays (BCS) was up .1% to 732.5. BP (BP) was up 1.4% to 573.5. BT (BT) was down .7% to 315. Prudential (PUK) was up 4.1% on break-up news to 783. Reuters (RTRSY) rose .2% to 492.25.
The DAXX fell .3% to 7,437. DaimlerChrysler (DCX) fell 1% to 59.42. DB (DB) fell .5% to 112.55. DT (DT) fell .6% to 14.34. Siemens (SI) fell .8% to 90.06.
The CAC 40 fell .1% to 5,983. Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) fell .7% to 9.72. AXA (AXA) fell .3% to 34.17. France Telecom (FTE) fell a fraction to 21.46. ST Micro (STM) fell .3% to 14.27.
