There will start to become an obvious here in our after-hours movers… Earnings reports.  That is not the entire case tonight, although earnings are impacting shares.  Tonight’s after-hours move include Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NYSE: AMD), Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE: BSX), Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG), Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. (NYSE: LGF), NPS Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: NPSP), and Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ: YHOO).

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NYSE: AMD) returned to profitability in the first quarter, although this may be from an accounting boost after it went to a Fab-Lite model last year, with earnings at $0.35 EPS or $257 million; excluding gains AMD said it earned $0.09 in non-GAAP EPS versus an expected loss.  Shares closed up 2.7% at $10.16 after hitting new 52-week highs today and shares are up almost 1.2% at $10.27 in the after-hours session.

Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE: BSX) is running up after it announced after the close that it will immediately resume distribution of COGNIS(R) CRT-Ds and TELIGEN(R) ICDs in the U.S… Shares are up 5% at $7.50 in the evening and it looks as though we have seen over 7 million shares trade hands since the closing bell today.

Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG) had a good quarter, but frankly there may not be enough punch in those horns.  Shares closed up 1.07% at $595.30; the after-hours session as of 4:58 PM EST we have shares down even worse than after the initial $575 with the new level of $566 on 1.6 million shares that have traded after the closing bell.

Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. (NYSE: LGF) is running up in after-hours trading after Carl Icahn hiked his hostile tender to $7.00 per share.  Shares are trading up 8.5% at $6.91 after a $6.37 close and we have seen 315,000 shares traded after the closing bell.

NPS Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: NPSP) is taking a facial hit after announcing that it intends to offer 7,500,000 shares of stock in an offering underwritten by Canaccord Adams.  Shares are down 7.5% at $5.75, but that is only on about 32,000 shares.

Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ: YHOO) is down, and that is directly as a result of Guess-Who… Google…. and shares are down 1.9% at $18.60 on almost 800,000 shares since the market closed.
