A recent story in the New York Post revealed that if Wal-Wart were allowed to open in the five boroughs, that New Yorkers would save 33% on a common basket of goods. If allowed to expand where it wants, Wal-Mart’s growth will give an increasing number of Americans a raise, expand the capital base, and free up poorly managed human, mechanical and financial capital so that it can be redirected toward the productive.
