US companies will begin the critical earnings season as Alcoa (NYSE: AA) reports today. The profit and revenue data is particularly important. Q4 numbers come with full year figures, which gives investors a chance to look at all of 2011. Company data will also tell whether the last quarter of the year was likely one of GDP expansion or not. Holiday shopping numbers and unemployment has show a rosy picture.
Alcoa’s numbers will not be good.
