Twenty five of the 27 members of the EU approved a new permanent rescue fund–the European Stability Mechanism –, the first step toward a foundation of programs to bailout what could eventually be five members of region–Greece, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, and Italy.
Two nations, the UK and Czech Republic are against the fund.
The firepower of the fund will initially be between 500 billion and 600 billion euros, but there are discussions to either increase the fund or have it operate in tandem with the IMF
