Dow Chemical CEO Andrew Liveris says Germany and France are in a recession. His company does do quite a bit of business in the countries, but he is not an economist.
Liveris’s comments appear to contradict unemployment and PMI data which German officials have recently issued. Germany’s economy is the engine of Europe’s, so if it falters, the regions falters more. The contradiction between Dow and the data shows just how tentative any recovery may be
