Aren’t toy promotions and fast food supposed to be a no-no?  We would ask that of Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. (NYSE: BBW) and McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE: MCD) today.

Build-A-Bear Workshop is a retailer of customized stuffed animals and it has announced “the continuation of its relationship with McDonald’s through the McDonald’s Happy Meal program.”

Today’s announcement covers the period of February 10 through March 8 and is for a new collection of Build-A-Bear Workshop mini stuffed animals to be featured in the McDonald’s Happy Meal.

At least it is not a giveaway, but Happy Meal buyers during this time period will also receive a coupon for $10 off a purchase of $30 or more at Build-A-Bear Workshop.

This program marks the fourth collection of mini-plush Build-A-Bear Workshop furry friends to be featured in McDonald’s Happy Meals and the relationship goes back to 2006.

Don’t forget one thing, this covers the Valentine’s Day period when so many bears are in demand.

This year, Build-A-Bear Workshop created five special designs of mini t-shirts to go along with the mini-animals and a new mini t-shirt design will come each week at Build-A-Bear Workshop stores.

At least it is better than those old candies fashioned as cigarettes… Happy Meals also at least have some more healthy options these days, but a review of the calorie counter at LiveStrong still shows that you can easily pork up your kids if not policed.
