US Small Business To Increase Capex--Gallup

Small business in supposed to be the engine of US job creation. That was certainly not true during the recession and immediately after. Many small businesses lost money, and access to capital, as banks cut their lending risk profiles.

Small business spending may have turned around.

According to Gallup

The proportion of U.S. small-business owners who plan to increase their company’s capital spending over the next 12 months (28%) is the highest in four years, according to the Wells Fargo/Gallup Small Business Index. The positive gap of five points between the percentage of small businesses expecting to increase and the percentage expecting to decrease their capital spending allocations is also the highest since January 2008.

If the trend continues, it may be signal the sector will add jobs as well, to help the economy as the public sector cuts workers
