The 52-Week Low Club for Wednesday

December 3, 2014: Here are four stocks among the 133 equities making new 52-week lows today.

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (NYSE: ANF) dropped about 2.2% Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $27.23. The stock’s 52-week high is $45.50. Volume is nearly triple the daily average of around 2.5 million shares. The teen retailer dipped early, but has recovered to gain more than 3% on the day after investors had a chance to digest the company’s quarterly earnings report.

Basic Energy Services Inc. (NYSE: BAS) dropped about 7.2% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $6.97 after closing at $7.51 on Tuesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $29.84. Share volume is about double the 2.5 million daily average shares traded. The oilfield services firm said this morning that it has entered into an amended and restated revolving credit facility.

Laredo Petroleum Inc. (NYSE: LPI) posted a drop of about 2.1% today to establish a new 52-week low of $9.21 against a high of $31.23. Volume is about 3-times the daily average of around 3.4 million shares. The company’s stock was downgraded by two firms on Tuesday.

SeaDrill Ltd. (NYSE: SDRL) posted a new 52-week low on Wednesday of $13.12. Based on Tuesday night’s closing price of $13.38 that’s a drop of nearly 2%. The stock’s 52-week high is $42.16. Trading volume is about 40% higher than the daily average of around 11 million shares. The offshore driller is rated at Sell Speculative Risk by Zephirin Group.
