March 17, 2015: Here are four stocks among the 119 equities making new 52-week lows today.

Vaalco Energy Inc. (NYSE: EGY) dropped about 23% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $3.45 after closing at $4.47 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $9.67. Share volume was nearly 3-times the daily average of around 1 million shares traded. The independent oil & gas company posted a big per share loss this morning.

Mattel Inc. (NASDAQ: MAT) dropped about 2.8% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $24.34 against a 52-week high of $40.79. Shares closed at $25.05 Monday night. Volume was about 35% below the daily average of around 5.5 million shares. The toymaker has retained its former CEO as a consultant at a higher annual salary than he was paid until he abruptly resigned in January.

National Oilwell Varco Inc. (NYSE: NOV) posted a new 52-week low on Tuesday. Shares dropped about 2.7% to $47.37 from Monday’s closing price of $48.67. The stock’s 52-week high is $86.55. Volume is about 20% higher than the daily average of around 6.5 million shares. The oilfield equipment company continues to post share price declines as the price of oil dips again.

Plug Power Inc. (NASDAQ: PLUG) dropped 12% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $2.42 after closing at $2.75 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $8.48. Share volume approached 2-times the daily average of around 4.6 million shares traded. The alternative fuel company posted a wider-than-expected fourth quarter loss this morning.
