The 52-Week Low Club for Monday

April 13, 2015: Here are four stocks among the 19 equities making new 52-week lows today.

Apollo Education Group Inc. (NASDAQ: APOL) dropped another 1.5% on Monday to post a new 52-week low of $16.70 after closing at $16.96 on Friday. The stock’s 52-week high is $34.55. Share volume was about 50% above the daily average of 1.65 million shares traded. The for-profit higher education company had no news today, but continues its string of new lows for a fourth straight day. The stock closed last Monday at $18.00 and has lost about 5.8% since then.

LendingClub Corp. (NYSE: LC) dropped about 3.2% on Monday to post a new 52-week low of $17.61 against a high of $29.29. The stock closed at $18.19 on Friday night. Volume was about 30% below the daily average of around 2.4 million shares. The company had no specific news today but it may be that the lockup expiration on the stock that will dump more than 300 million new shares on the market in early June is already having an impact on the share price.

Schnitzer Steel Industries Inc. (NYSE: SCHN) dropped about 0.3% on Monday to post a new 52-week low of $15.06 after closing at $15.51 on Friday. The stock’s 52-week high is $28.76. Share volume totaled about 20% below the daily average of around 450,000 shares traded. The steelmaker had no specific news today.

Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS (NYSE: TKS) also posted a new 52-week low on Monday. Shares dropped about 1.6% to $10.73 from Friday’s closing price of $10.90. The stock’s 52-week high is $16.68. Volume is about 30% below the daily average of around 530,000 shares. Turkey’s largest mobile phone carrier is caught in a battle between its two owners.
