August 10, 2018: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 167 equities making new 52-week lows in Friday’s session. On the NYSE decliners led advancers by about 1.9 to 1, and on the Nasdaq, decliners led advancers by about 1.41 to 1.
Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) traded down about 1.9% Friday to post a new 52-week low of $9.72 after closing Thursday at $9.91. The stock’s 52-week high is $13.48. Volume was nearing the daily average of about 35 million shares. The company reported sales in China fell by nearly a third in July.
Gemphire Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: GEMP) traded down nearly 75% Friday to set a new 52-week low of $0.83. Shares closed at $3.27 on Thursday, and the 52-week high is $11.43. Volume was about 30 times the daily average of around 500,000. The company ended a phase 2 trial due to “unanticipated problems.”
Banco Santander SA (NYSE: SAN) traded down 4.5% Friday and posted a new 52-week low of $5.13 after closing Thursday at $5.37. The stock’s 52-week high is $7.57. Volume was approaching double the daily average of around 8.4 million. The company had no specific news.
