XLM Price Prediction: Could Stellar Hit $0.25?

Stellar just landed partnerships with a major US bank, the DTCC, and two federal regulators in a single month, yet XLM still trades far below a key resistance level that has blocked every rally since mid-2026. Here is what needs…

Stellar (CRYPTO:XLM) is currently trading at $0.1907, following one of the most activity-rich months for institutional news in recent years. In September alone, a major US bank used the Stellar network to run its own stablecoin across borders, DTCC incorporated Stellar into its tokenization initiative for Russell 1000 stocks, and both the SEC and CFTC identified XLM as one of 16 recognized digital commodities.

With XLM gaining 19.5% over the past month but still falling short in shorter timeframes, the pressing question for any XLM price prediction arises: what will propel Stellar to break the $0.25 barrier?

As of now, Stellar boasts a market capitalization of $6.65 billion and is trading below both its 50-day and 200-day moving averages, while Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) holds most of the market’s liquidity. The 50-day average trend is downward, while the 200-day moving average has been climbing since February 2026.

XLM has surpassed the crucial $0.185 level, with resistance now at $0.194, $0.20, $0.216, and finally $0.25. Support levels lie at $0.173 and $0.169. This means the $0.20 milestone is only 4.9% away from the current price, while $0.25 requires an additional 25% climb.

Regaining the $0.20 level is a critical signal for the XLM price that the ongoing downtrend may be reversing, especially as both moving averages and previous attempts to break this barrier converge at this price point. Notably, XLM remains about 79.7% below its all-time high of $0.938, reached in January 2018, with 2022 marking its most challenging year, when it fell 73%.

Institutional Advances: A Game Changer for Stellar?

A significant milestone occurred on September 9 when U.S. Bank launched USBDC, a dollar-backed stablecoin that operates on the public Stellar network. This pilot project, developed in collaboration with the Stellar Development Foundation and PwC, involved token minting, redemption, freezing, and clawback, although specifics on client launch dates remain unclear.

Another major development was the DTCC’s announcement on May 27, indicating its plans to connect its tokenization platform to Stellar by the first half of 2027, backed by a three-year SEC no-action letter granted in December 2025. The DTCC oversees an astounding $114 trillion in US capital markets, creating a significant opportunity for Stellar as it ventures into tokenizing Russell 1000 constituents, ETFs, and U.S. Treasury securities.

Stellar vs. XRP Ledger

Stellar has also made significant strides in asset tokenization, reaching $3.996 billion by September, quadrupling its position since the beginning of the year. Notable projects on the Stellar network include Franklin Templeton’s BENJI money-market fund, Tradable’s $1 billion private-credit book, and PayPal’s PYUSD.

However, competition with XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) and its XRP Ledger has intensified. It previously held a nine-fold advantage, now reduced to 2.85 times. The XRP Ledger recently surpassed $1.4 billion in tokenized assets due to Ripple’s institutional efforts, signaling a narrowing gap that Stellar needs to address. Despite Stellar’s growing stablecoin supply nearing $938 million within a $305 billion market, achieving a $0.25 valuation requires sustained volume and usage.

What Does XLM Need to Reach $0.25?

To move past $0.25, XLM must first reclaim the crucial $0.20 level that has effectively capped its price ceiling since July 2026. In the past, a surge tied to DTCC news saw XLM rise 72% to $0.298 before correcting rapidly, highlighting XLM’s volatility and potential for sharp swings.

The project is also reliant on a broader altcoin market rally. While Bitcoin dominance remains elevated between 58.7% and 59.6%, near a critical support threshold, altcoin seasons have historically drawn liquidity away from Bitcoin and toward other coins. Despite recent volatility, XRP has outperformed XLM, gaining 40% over the past 30 days versus XLM’s 19.5%, underscoring the need for stronger altcoin sentiment.

With Bitcoin currently trading at $76,941, it needs to break above $80,000 to provide the bullish momentum XLM needs to advance toward $0.25.

The Path Forward for Stellar

Achieving a $0.25 price point is within reach for Stellar, contingent upon overcoming $0.20, which remains less than 5% away, and sustained altcoin participation. PrimeXBT has identified a price range between $0.152 and $0.229 for XLM, indicating that the road to $0.25 is possible, but timing and market conditions will ultimately dictate the journey ahead.

For Stellar to establish itself at higher valuations, it will require a concerted effort in institutional adoption, market-driving forces, and a favorable altcoin landscape.
