In its XRP price prediction, Grok, the AI chatbot created by Elon Musk’s xAI, suggests that XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) has a 48% chance of trading above $2 at any point before the end of 2027. To do so, XRP would need to climb about 47% from its trading price of $1.36 as of October 21, 2026.

XRP has risen by 4.5% over the past 24 hours after bouncing back from a low of around $1.255 on October 18. However, this recovery is minor compared to the overall downturn, as XRP has dropped 10.4% in October alone and trades 62.8% below its all-time high of $3.65.

Many investors are watching the $2 mark because it represents a significant milestone in recovering from past losses. With Grok’s estimate hovering near 50%, can XRP regain its footing and hit $2 before the end of 2027? And what conditions would need to be met for this to happen?

XRP Needs to Reach a Market Value of $126 Billion at $2

For XRP to trade at $2, its market cap—the total value of all XRP coins in circulation—would need to grow to approximately $126.3 billion. XRP’s market cap stands at $85.6 billion. This goal may be challenging for an asset that has lost 44.8% of its value over the past year.

Moreover, XRP’s increasing supply complicates this ascent. With a maximum supply of 100 billion coins, every dollar increase in price requires substantial buying power. XRP’s fully diluted valuation—the value of all potential XRP coins at the current price—already stands at about $135.6 billion.

Grok believes that although a brief rise to $2 is possible, especially given XRP’s volatility, the likelihood of sustaining that price remains uncertain. XRP trades below its 20-day and 50-day moving averages, around $1.40 and $1.41, indicating weak momentum. Additionally, ETF flows have been stagnant, suggesting that achieving $2 would require prolonged market catalysts.

According to Grok, XRP is likely to trade between $1.12 and $1.72 by the end of 2026, with $1.48 as the most probable value. This base scenario assumes Bitcoin remains stable and ETF flows are flat to slightly positive.

Looking ahead to the end of 2027, Grok’s prediction widens to a range of $1.15 to $2.95, with $1.92 as the most likely outcome, still slightly short of the desired $2 target. Grok anticipates a gradual recovery over several months, rather than a sharp price surge. At an estimated $1.92, holding 5,000 XRP would be worth $9,600.

XRP Needs Bitcoin, ETF Inflows and Bank Deals to Reach $2

To reach $2, Grok highlights three critical factors.

  1. Bitcoin’s price recovery. Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC), trading around $83,353 and 33.9% below its October 2025 record of $126,080, must stabilize above $100,000. XRP tends to exaggerate Bitcoin’s price moves, and over the past year, XRP fell 44.8% while Bitcoin fell only 23.4%.
  2. Increased spot XRP ETF flows. Spot XRP ETFs need significant growth, as they are financial products that directly hold XRP. Net flows were flat on October 19 and 20, and a favorable trend, with increases beyond $1.5 billion in assets, is necessary. For context, during strong inflows in September, which peaked at $22.6 million on September 25, XRP rose to $1.66.
  3. Expansion of XRP Ledger use and banking partnerships. Broader adoption of the XRP Ledger and more bank partnerships are essential. XRP trading is live at select Sparkassen, Germany’s savings banks, but a lending amendment on the XRP Ledger still lacks the validator votes it needs to switch on.

Grok assesses that XRP has a 22% chance of dropping to $0.98 or lower before the end of 2026. This scenario could unfold if Bitcoin drops 20% to 25%, bringing it down to the mid-$60,000s range and causing XRP to fall below the critical $1.25 support level.

XRP briefly tested this support area on October 18. However, testing this level only once does not guarantee its strength. A second decline to this range, particularly alongside a drop in Bitcoin’s value, could activate Grok’s downside scenario.

Is Grok’s XRP Price Prediction of $2 by 2027 Realistic?

Our analysis suggests that XRP is slightly less likely than not to trade above $2 before the end of 2027. Closing above $2 by year-end seems even less likely, so Grok’s 48% estimate seems reasonable. Even Grok’s most probable figure of $1.92 falls short of the prized $2 milestone.

For XRP to make a legitimate run toward $2, it needs to first break above its 50-day moving average and surpass the $1.66 peak reached during the last wave of ETF-driven activity. Beyond that, it needs Bitcoin back above $100,000 and much larger ETF assets. Without them, XRP might remain below its September high well into 2027, and a daily close below $1.255—its low from October 18—could bring Grok’s downside prediction closer to reality.
