Cardano Price Prediction: What Would Have to Happen for ADA to Get Back to $1?
ADA once crossed $1 just last year, then shed most of those gains in weeks. A specific four-step path could bring it back, but two of those steps hinge on developments that remain incomplete or unannounced.

Cardano (CRYPTO:ADA) is trading around $0.20, meaning it would need to rise by approximately 389.8% to reach $1. Over the last week, ADA has declined 4.1%, and over the past 30 days, 16.0%. After hitting a 30-day peak of about $0.27 on October 5, 2026, it has since dropped to $0.20 as of October 25, losing earlier gains.
ADA ranks 18th by market value and trades 93.4% below its all-time high of $3.09, reached in September 2021. Many holders point to $1 because ADA recently crossed that threshold. In August 2025, it peaked at $1.02 but ended the month at $0.81. So, what needs to happen for ADA to reclaim that $1 mark?
A $1 ADA Would Surpass TRON

Market value is calculated by multiplying the price by the number of circulating coins. With about 37.57 billion ADA in circulation, a $1 price would put Cardano’s market value at about $37.57 billion, surpassing TRON’s (CRYPTO:TRX) market cap of $31.45 billion and placing it behind Solana (CRYPTO:SOL), valued at $59.93 billion.
Setting smaller goals highlights the scale of the climb ahead. If ADA reaches $0.50, its estimated market value would be about $18.79 billion, above Monero’s $11.39 billion. At $0.75, ADA would have an estimated market value of about $28.18 billion, still short of TRON’s valuation.
Investors also need to consider supply pressures. ADA’s maximum supply is 45 billion coins, with 37.57 billion in circulation, meaning more ADA can still enter the market. Every new coin issued requires an increase in total market value to maintain a $1 price point.
Catalysts That Could Boost ADA Toward $1

A General Altcoin Recovery
Altcoins are cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC). These tend to perform well when Bitcoin loses some dominance over the total cryptocurrency market, which stands at 59.5%. This indicates that most capital remains in Bitcoin.
Market sentiment feels stagnant. The Crypto Fear and Greed Index, ranging from 0 to 100, shows a neutral rating of 49. However, a widespread market rally can quickly elevate ADA’s price. For instance, it opened November 2024 at $0.34 and closed that month at $1.08—the last time it finished above $1.
Increased Activity on Midnight
Midnight is a privacy-focused blockchain that operates independently but uses Cardano’s features. Since its mainnet launch on March 30, 2026, it has partnered with nine federated nodes, including Google Cloud. A TRON integration is planned for December 2026, according to our Midnight coverage.
Midnight operates on DUST fees, based on holding the NIGHT (CRYPTO:NIGHT) token, so growth on Midnight doesn’t necessarily drive demand for ADA. During a recent 30-day period, NIGHT surged 40.0% while ADA dropped 17.9%.
Hoskinson’s New Smart Contract Language
Charles Hoskinson, Cardano’s co-founder, is drafting a new language for smart contracts—automated programs that run on a blockchain. He hadn’t released a name, a technical specification, or a release date as of October 19, 2026, according to our coverage of the announcement. Developers don’t have public code to build with yet, and it’s unclear whether applications built in this language will pay fees in ADA.
Can ADA Reach $1?
ADA has a low chance of returning to $1 within the next year; much depends on developments that haven’t happened yet. ADA trades below its 20-day average of $0.22, its 50-day average of $0.23, and its 200-day average of $0.21, reflecting the average closing price over their respective time frames.
For ADA to climb back toward $1, several conditions must be met in order.
- Climb above its 50-day average and return to its October high of approximately $0.27.
- Participate in a wider altcoin recovery and rising usage of Cardano’s decentralized finance applications, pushing prices up to $0.50.
- Pick up usage via Midnight and get Hoskinson’s language into developers’ hands, targeting $0.75.
- Cap it off with a full bull market and approval of a US spot ADA ETF that directly holds ADA, finally hitting $1.
The first goal seems achievable, especially if the overall market shifts positively. However, the next steps could prove challenging, since Midnight’s design directs fee demand to NIGHT and the new programming language lacks details, a pattern our broader Cardano price-prediction coverage has flagged before.
A weekly close above $0.27, along with the TRON integration live by December 2026, would make $0.50 a reasonable target. Conversely, if progress stalls and ADA cannot hold $0.20, it may slide back toward its June 28, 2026 low of around $0.14.
