Competition is good for consumers, and at no time is this competition more fierce than around the holidays. America’s — and the world’s — largest retail store, Walmart, has built a reputation for offering low prices, and the holiday season is prime time for discounts.
Walmart has reduced the prices on anything from smartphones and cooking appliances to laptops and security systems. On some of the best deals, the company offers discounts of at least 45% in the final days before Christmas.
The giant retailers is also aiming to fill the gap left by the bankruptcy of Toy ‘R’ Us, announcing back in August that it will have 30% more toys in stores and 40% more online than last year in time for the holiday season. Considering how the toy market is changing every month and there is a hot new toy every season, getting them at low prices shouldn’t bankrupt you.
Walmart has started focusing on shoppers living in cities, with products being available for pickup — many on the same day and for free — wherever the consumer wants.
To determine the best Christmas deals at Walmart, 24/7 Wall St. reviewed all deals on products that were marked down at least 45%. We ranked items by the total dollar amount off the original price. We included only deals on in-demand products that are likely to be given as gifts and are expected to continue through at least December 25. We excluded duplicates and products we deemed too similar to other deals on the list.
