AOL Buys Huffington Post

AOL (NYSE: AOL) bought The Huffington Post for $315 million of which $300 million is cash.

Huffington management will run all AOL content sites.

The combined US audience of the two companies will be 117 million unique visitors in the US.

The move is seen as a brilliant one for AOL CEO Tim Armstrong who has struggled to increase AOL content, its size on the web, and advertising growth.
