Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. (NYSE: FCAU) has said that it is recalling more than 1.7 million Ram pickups and chassis cab to fix problems with the vehicles’ airbags and welds in the steering system. There are two separate recalls on the airbag issue and another on a faulty weld in the steering system.

In the largest recall, Chrysler will inspect and repair as needed a steering wheel wiring harness that may rub against a driver air bag module spring causing an electrical short that could cause the driver’s side frontal airbag to deploy unexpectedly. The recall affects 1.35 million Ram pickups from model years 2012 to 2014 and chassis cab trucks from the same years. The company said it is aware of two injuries caused by the problem, but no crashes or fatalities. Less than 1% of trucks repaired experienced the problem.

An additional 188,000 Ram Quad cab pickups from the 2014 and 2015 model years have a problem with the side curtain airbags that do not stop passengers in the rear seats from hitting a roof pillar support in the event that the truck rolls over. The company said it has received no complaints from customers nor have any injuries or crashes been reported due to this problem.

The third recall was announced Thursday morning, according to the AP, and involves 194,000 Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 pickups and 3500 Chassis cabs from model years 2013 and 2014. Most of the trucks were sold in North America, but 1,500 in Mexico are also included. If the weld separates, steering components may fail and reduce steering capability. The company said it knows of one crash but no injuries as a result of the problem.
