Bruker posted non-GAAP EPS of $0.56 for Q3 2026, exceeding expectations against a consensus estimate of $0.42. Revenue of $874 million also came in above the $865 million estimate, though year-over-year growth was modest at about 1.6%.
The gap between GAAP and non-GAAP results was unusually wide this quarter. A $174.5 million non-cash goodwill impairment charge pushed the GAAP diluted result to a loss of $0.81 per share, against a non-GAAP gain of $0.56. That impairment was the dominant one-time item in the non-GAAP reconciliation.
Operating efficiency improved as non-GAAP operating margin expanded 400 basis points to 16.3%, with non-GAAP operating income climbing to $142.6 million from $105.9 million a year ago. Cash generation also improved sharply, with operating cash flow swinging to $118.2 million from an outflow of $33.2 million in the prior-year period, and free cash flow reaching $96.7 million.

Within the segments, Bruker Energy and Supercon Technologies (BEST) was the standout, with organic revenue up 11.8% year over year. The larger Bruker Scientific Instruments (BSI) segment, which contributed $793.9 million of the quarter's revenue, saw organic revenue dip 0.4%, though bookings momentum remained intact. BSI recorded its fifth consecutive quarter of book-to-bill above one, with organic bookings and backlog both up mid-single digits percent year to date.
Management reaffirmed full-year non-GAAP EPS guidance of $2.10 to $2.15, implying growth of 15% to 17% over the $1.83 posted in fiscal 2025. Full-year revenue guidance was updated to $3.52 to $3.56 billion, reflecting a neutral currency impact compared to a previously expected 0.5% tailwind. Looking further out, CEO Frank Laukien cited strengthening demand across most end markets, including the US academic market, and pointed to double-digit EPS growth and revenue growth acceleration for fiscal 2027.
