C3.ai is the standout mover at the open on October 12, climbing 9.97%, and it is not moving alone.

ServiceNow, Salesforce, Shopify, and Intuit are all up at least 3.5% in early trading. The breadth of that move across enterprise software names points to sector-wide buying pressure.

Shopify and Intuit round out a board showing unusual cohesion at the open. When names this different in size and business model move in the same direction at the same pace, it reflects a shift in appetite for the category as a whole.

Optical networking stocks are moving the other way, with Applied Optoelectronics down 6.01% alongside losses at Ciena, Lumentum, Navitas Semiconductor, and SanDisk. That divergence between software gainers and hardware-adjacent names is the sharpest contrast in early trading.
