FB Financial posted adjusted diluted earnings of $1.21 per share in Q3 2026, meeting expectations. The headline number holds, but the pressure is building beneath it.

Credit quality held up overall, with net charge-offs at just 0.04% annualized, though nonperforming loans and nonaccrual loans both rose from a year ago. The mortgage banking segment was a separate drag, posting a pre-tax loss. Those lines matter most as loan growth accelerates.
GAAP net income swung to $60.20 million from the prior-year quarter, a comparison heavily distorted by last year's merger costs and elevated credit loss provisions, which have since fallen away. Whether funding costs stabilize is what the next quarter's results will answer.
