PepsiCo is the day's biggest payer, sending shareholders about $2.02 billion, or $1.48 a share, on September 30. Alphabet's two share classes together add roughly $2.51 billion at 22 cents a share, with Kraft Heinz and SLM also paying out.

Alphabet's two share classes contribute the day's largest combined sum, roughly $2.51 billion, reaching shareholders on September 14.
