Petrobras shares reached $26 on October 16, 2026, a new 52-week high that puts the stock at roughly double where it stood a year earlier. That kind of move in a major oil company is unusual.
The prior 52-week high had been set just two days earlier, on October 14, and today's close came in 0.23% above that mark. Breaking a high set that recently signals that buying pressure has not let up, which tends to be a meaningful signal in momentum-driven markets.
At $26 per share, Petrobras carries a market capitalization of $163 billion, among the largest energy companies in the world by that measure.
The Brazilian oil major also lists preferred shares, giving investors two ways to access the same underlying business. Keep an eye on whether the stock holds above the prior high or whether two consecutive record closes mark a near-term exhaustion point.
