SoundHound AI targets adjusted EBITDA profitability by late 2027

As seen on the 24/7 Wall St. homepage on November 5, 2026.

This is a milestone moment for SoundHound. We announced another record quarter, closed our acquisition of LivePerson, and guided that the company will be adjusted EBITDA profitable within the second half of 2027.

Profitability now has a date on it, but the second half of 2027 is a long runway for a company that just absorbed LivePerson. Shares slipped 3.5% since the remarks, so the record quarter is not what investors are pricing.

SoundHound AI CEO Keyvan Mohajer called the company's 2026 Q3 earnings a milestone, pointing to three developments at once: a record quarter by the company's own characterization, the closed acquisition of LivePerson, and a formal profitability target. That target, adjusted EBITDA positive sometime in the second half of 2027, is the first time the company has attached a specific window to the goal.

The LivePerson acquisition adds meaningful complexity to that timeline. Integrating a conversational AI and customer engagement platform into an existing voice AI business takes time, resources, and execution discipline, and any slip in that process pushes out the EBITDA target. Investors are clearly weighing that risk: shares fell 3.5% after Mohajer's remarks, suggesting the record quarter alone was not enough to offset concern about the road ahead.

The gap between today and the second half of 2027 is long enough that a lot can change, in both directions. What matters most in the near term is how quickly SoundHound can demonstrate that the LivePerson integration is on track and that the combined business is moving toward, rather than away from, that profitability window.

For investors already in the stock, the EBITDA guidance at least replaces an open-ended wait with a stated destination. For those watching from the outside, the more relevant signal will be whether sequential quarters show the kind of revenue growth and cost discipline that makes the second-half 2027 target credible rather than aspirational.
