IREN's $4 Billion ARR Delay: What the Timing Slip Means for Investors

As seen on the 24/7 Wall St. homepage on November 5, 2026.

The more than $4 billion of contracted ARR is funded and now targeted for January, after a customer-requested design change and supplier timing moved it from year-end; it may extend to the end of February.

Roberts just pushed the revenue start line for a $4 billion annualized contract book out of the current quarter, with a customer design change and supplier timing adding up to two more months of slippage. Investors took it well, but the funded-and-delayed framing means the cash shows up a quarter later than modeled. Watch whether February holds.

Daniel John Roberts, Co-Chief Executive Officer of IREN, confirmed during the company's first-quarter 2027 earnings that more than $4 billion in contracted annualized recurring revenue, while fully funded, will not begin flowing on schedule. The original target was year-end, and the new target is January, with a possible extension through the end of February.

Two factors drove the delay: a customer-requested design change and supplier timing. Roberts was clear that neither reflects a loss of the contract or a funding problem, which is likely why the market responded with a 3.85% gain in the stock since the quote. The business is intact; the calendar simply shifted.

For investors who had modeled that revenue landing in the current quarter, the practical consequence is that cash recognition moves out by at least one quarter and possibly two. A funded delay is categorically different from a cancelled or renegotiated one, but it still reshapes near-term financial projections in a meaningful way.

The window Roberts laid out, January through end of February, is narrow enough that a second slip would push the revenue into a third quarter of waiting. That makes the January target the single most important milestone to track as IREN moves through the next earnings cycle.
