S&P Global delivered adjusted diluted EPS of $4.58 in Q3 2026, beating expectations, with revenue also ahead of estimates. Reported revenue fell on a continuing-operations basis following the July 1 spin-off of the Mobility division into Mobility Global.

Indices revenue grew 20% in the quarter, led by asset-linked fees as global equity markets and ETF inflows expanded. Demand for passive-investment benchmarks tied to S&P indices remains a durable growth engine.

S&P Global opened a formal review of Capital IQ and the related Kensho data assets. CEO Martina Cheung framed it as portfolio stewardship, saying the businesses involved have significant opportunities ahead as technology changes how customers access, analyze, and use information, and that the review reflects a priority to invest where the company is strongest. The company gave no specific timeframe, and full-year guidance assumes Market Intelligence continues in its current structure.

Management raised full-year 2026 adjusted diluted EPS guidance to a range of $17.70 to $17.95, and also lifted the revenue growth and adjusted operating margin expansion outlooks. The company now expects to repurchase more than $7 billion of stock for the full year.

A higher adjusted effective tax rate of 23.1% created a modest drag on earnings, while ratings transaction revenue grew at a slower pace than other segments and currency weighed on organic revenue. Cash and equivalents give the company meaningful financial flexibility as the Capital IQ review plays out.
