Vertiv opened October 28 up 11.5%, the clear standout at the top of the session. That leaves more than 21 percentage points between Vertiv and the bottom of the leaderboard, an unusually wide spread for a single morning.

The gains list reads heavily from the hardware and memory space, with SK hynix, SanDisk, Micron Technology, and Amphenol all higher. Four of the five top gainers are tied to data infrastructure or semiconductor storage, so a specific corner of the market is catching a bid early.

The losers side is equally concentrated in hardware and connectivity names, including Teradyne, TE Connectivity, Seagate Technology, and GSK. Hardware names appear on both ends of the table, so sector exposure alone does not explain today's winners and losers.

Boston Scientific was the session's sharpest decliner, off 9.9%, a notable contrast with the technology infrastructure theme dominating the gainers. The losers list spans semiconductors, connectors, and pharmaceuticals, pointing to stock-specific catalysts.
