Microsoft MAI-Transcribe-2 priced at $9 per 1,000 minutes, above rivals

As seen on the 24/7 Wall St. homepage on October 1, 2026.

Microsoft priced its new streaming transcription model at a premium to ElevenLabs and Deepgram at $6.50 per 1,000 minutes, a sign the enterprise AI audio race is not yet a pure price war.

MAI-Transcribe-2-Streaming is available for $0.54 per hour for streaming, equivalent to $9.00 per 1,000 minutes of audio, level with Gemini 3.5 Transcribe Live at $9 and above the $6.50 charged for ElevenLabs Scribe v2 Realtime and Deepgram Flux, more than twice Cartesia Ink-2 at https://t.co/kyPb1zdD9s

Microsoft's MAI-Transcribe-2-Streaming carries a list price of $9.00 per 1,000 minutes of audio, putting it squarely at the premium end of the real-time transcription market.

That price matches Gemini 3.5 Transcribe Live but sits meaningfully above the $6.50 that ElevenLabs Scribe v2 Realtime and Deepgram Flux each charge, and more than twice the rate of Cartesia Ink-2.

The gap matters because enterprise audio transcription is increasingly a volume game, where per-minute costs compound fast across call centers, media workflows, and voice-first applications.

Microsoft has positioned MAI-Transcribe-2-Streaming as a premium tier offering, a signal that the enterprise AI audio market has not yet collapsed into a pure race to the bottom on cost.
