About Danaos

Danaos Corporation is a Marshall Islands-incorporated international owner of container vessels and drybulk carriers. The company operates a fleet of 75 container vessels on the water with an aggregate capacity of approximately 477,401 TEU, plus 11 Capesize drybulk carriers (total 1,943,286 DWT). Danaos has an extensive orderbook comprising 29 container vessels (approximately 184,550 TEU) and four Newcastlemax drybulk vessels (approximately 844,000 DWT) under construction at Chinese shipyards with deliveries scheduled through 2029. The container vessels segment generates revenue primarily through multi-year, fixed-rate time charter and bareboat charter agreements with major liner companies, with 23 of 29 newbuilds already contracted on 3-to-10-year charters. The drybulk vessels segment provides commodities transportation services through a mix of time charter and spot voyage employment. The company has strategic investments in Star Bulk Carriers Corp. (6.3 million shares valued at $156.2 million), Yoda PLC (a Cyprus-listed investment company focused on LNG, container shipping, real estate, and healthcare), Carbon Termination Technologies Corporation (decarbonization R&D for shipping), and the Alaska LNG project through Glenfarne Alaska Partners LLC. Total contracted revenues were approximately $4.3 billion as of June 30, 2026. Vessel management is provided by related party Danaos Shipping Company Limited under an agreement extending through December 2027, while commercial agency services including chartering, sale and purchase brokerage, and newbuilding supervision are provided by related party Danaos Chartering Services Inc. under a separate Commercial Agency Agreement also extending through December 2027. Both service providers are subject to exclusivity provisions and non-compete restrictions covering containerships above 2,500 TEU and drybulk carriers, with the Coustas family required to maintain at least 80% ownership of each entity.
