About Solid Power
Solid Power is a pre-revenue-stage company developing solid-state battery technology for the electric vehicle and adjacent markets. The company's core technology is its proprietary sulfide-based solid electrolyte material, which it believes can enable extended driving range, longer battery life, improved safety, and lower cost compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries. Solid Power's business model differentiates it from many competitors: rather than manufacturing complete battery cells, the company plans to sell its electrolyte material to cell manufacturers and license its cell designs and manufacturing processes. Key partners include SK On, Samsung SDI, and BMW, with whom Solid Power has collaboration and evaluation agreements. The company is constructing a continuous electrolyte production pilot line and pursuing ISO 9001 certification to strengthen its commercial readiness. Solid Power is also exploring joint ventures for commercial-scale electrolyte production in South Korea. The company has no debt and maintains significant liquidity through cash and marketable securities. Updated
