Did DLTR Beat Earnings? Q3 2025 Results
Dollar Tree delivered a strong fiscal third quarter, posting adjusted diluted EPS of $1.21 against a consensus estimate of $1.08, a beat of 11.80%, as its accelerating multi-price transformation continued to gain traction with shoppers. Revenue of $4.75 billion edged past the $4.69 billion consensus by 1.13%, though the headline figure reflects a 37.3% year-over-year decline as the completed sale of Family Dollar in July now removes that segment from continuing operations. The real story was same-store net sales growth of 4.2%, driven primarily by a 4.5% lift in average ticket as the Dollar Tree 3.0 format rollout, which covered roughly 646 store conversions during the quarter, encouraged customers to trade up across a broader price range. Gross margin expanded 40 basis points to 35.8%, aided by improved pricing mark-on and lower freight costs. Shares have surged roughly 25% over the past month as investors repriced the now-leaner, single-banner business. Management raised its full-year adjusted EPS outlook to $5.60 to $5.80 and guided fourth-quarter adjusted EPS of $2.40 to $2.60, assuming current tariff levels hold.
- Multi-price strategy (Dollar Tree 3.0 format) driving strong same-store sales growth of 4.2%
- 4.5% increase in average ticket partially offset by 0.3% decline in traffic
- Improved mark-on from pricing initiatives
- Lower domestic and import freight costs
- Favorable sales mix
- Record Halloween season performance
- Transition services agreement income of $23.8 million from Family Dollar separation

Today's Dollar Tree is a preferred destination for a wide range of shoppers – whether they rely on us for everyday essentials, appreciate a fast and easy trip, or enjoy the excitement of discovering something unexpected.”

Forward Guidance & Outlook
For Q4 fiscal 2025, Dollar Tree expects net sales from continuing operations of $5.4 billion to $5.5 billion, based on comparable store net sales growth of 4.0% to 6.0%, and adjusted diluted EPS from continuing operations of $2.40 to $2.60. For full-year fiscal 2025, the company raised its outlook to net sales of $19.35 billion to $19.45 billion (comparable store sales growth of 5.0% to 5.5%) and increased adjusted diluted EPS guidance to $5.60 to $5.80 to reflect the updated operating outlook and year-to-date share repurchases. The outlook assumes current tariff levels remain in effect and that the company can mitigate most incremental margin pressure from tariffs and other input costs. Additional share repurchases are not included in the updated outlook.
