Did GPC Beat Earnings? Q2 2026 Results
Genuine Parts Company delivered a measured second quarter for fiscal 2026, posting adjusted diluted EPS of $2.15 on revenue of $6.54 billion, as solid operational momentum across its Industrial and Automotive segments was partially overshadowed by steep restructuring and separation charges. The company's 6.0% total sales growth was underpinned by 3.4% comparable sales expansion, but GAAP net income fell to $227.56 million from $254.88 million a year ago, weighed down by $92.61 million in pre-tax restructuring and separation costs tied to the planned split of GPC's Global Automotive and Global Industrial businesses into two independent publicly traded companies, targeted for completion in Q1 2027. The Industrial segment was the clear bright spot, growing sales 7.1% with comparable growth of 6.1% and EBITDA margin expanding 30 basis points to 13.1%. On an adjusted basis, net income rose modestly to $296.23 million, underscoring the underlying health of the business. GPC reaffirmed its full-year adjusted diluted EPS outlook of $7.50 to $8.00, with total sales growth expected in the 3% to 5.5% range, signaling confidence in the trajectory ahead despite near-term separation headwinds.
- 3.4% comparable sales growth across the company
- Industrial segment led with 6.1% comparable sales growth and 30 basis point EBITDA margin expansion to 13.1%
- North America Automotive comparable sales up 2.6% with 20 basis point EBITDA margin improvement to 8.2%
- 1.4% favorable foreign currency impact on total sales
- 1.2% benefit from acquisitions on total sales
- International Automotive benefited from 4.9% favorable foreign currency and 2.7% acquisition contribution
“The GPC team delivered solid second quarter results, driven by continued sales growth and disciplined execution across our businesses.”
