According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) will launch an advertising supported tablet, which would allow the e-commerce company to charge consumers below normal retail prices for similar products. The paper wrote:
The cheaper, ad-supported offering from Amazon, along with other upcoming gadgets from electronics makers, could put pressure on Apple, which has become the world’s most valuable company in part by pricing its devices at a premium.
