The Nikkei rose .6% to 16,829. Bridgestone rose 2.6% to 2595.Canon rose 1.7% to 6650. Daiwa Securities rose 1.5% to 1317. Fuji Film rose .8% to 4820. Hitachi rose 1.8% to 717. Honda rose .2% to 4200. NEC rose .2% to 661. NTT .8% to 605000. Sharp rose .7% to 2055. Softbank rose 1.6% to 2525. Sony rose 1.8% to 4870. Toshiba dropped .1% to 771. Toyota rose 1% to 7370.Yahoo Japan rose 2.7% to 47050.
The Hang Seng rose 1.1% to 18,919. Cathay Pacific rose 1.6% to 18.98. China Mobile rose 1.9% to 62.1 China Unicom rose 3.1% to 9.69. HSBC rose .1% to 140.7. PCCW rose .4% to 4.82.
The KOSPI rose 2.5% to 1,418.
The Straits Times rose 1.1% to 2,916.
The Shanghai Composite rose 1.2% to 2,249.
