Markets in Asia staged an impressive rally.

The FTSE rose .6% to 17,371. Bridgestone fell .8% to 2620. Canon rose 1.1% to 6490. FujiFilm rose 1.1% to 4770. Hitachi rose .4% to 796. Honda rose 1.9% to 4740. NEC rose .2% to 611. NTT was flat at 609000. Docomo was down 1.1% to 188000. Softbank rose 5.5% to 2595. Sony fell .5% to 5630. Toshiba fell .7% to 812. Toyota rose .5% to 7980. Yahoo Japan rose 1.7% to 47450.

The Hang Seng was up 1.1% to 20,278. Cathay Pacific fell .5% to 20.75. China Mobile was up 2.8% to 70.55. China Unicom rose 1.5% to 10.76. HSBC rose .9% to 141.5. PCCW dropped 6% to 4.67.

The KOSPI rose .3% to 1383.

The Straits Times rose .6% to 3,055.

The Shanghai Composite was down .8% to 2,757.
