American Air OKed To Buy Boeing (BA) Jets

The AMR bankruptcy has raised the issue of what terms a judge will set for the airline to buy plane and what terms will be set to cancel leases. The decisions could have broad ranging effects on both airplane manufacturers and leasing companies. The decisions will also effect extent to which the airline can buy more fuel-efficient new jets to bring down operated costs at the troubled company.

A judge approved a plan already in place for American to buy 32 jets from Boeing, a signal that all initiatives to acquire new planes will not be blocked

According to Reuters,

At a hearing in New York, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Sean Lane confirmed the carrier’s continued ability to purchase and finance the planes,

American still has huge orders in place with both Boeing and Airbus
