Ford Recalls 450,000 Minivans, SUVs (F)

Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) announced a recall of 450,000 of older model minivans and SUVs this morning at the Detroit Auto Show. The company is recalling 2001 and 2002 Ford Escape compact SUV, and the 2004 and 2005 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans to correct problems that could lead to fires (the SUVs) or loss of power (the minivans).

The company noted that it knows of two incidents related to problem in the minivans and none related to the SUV problem.
