Chinese On Internet Reach 513 Million

The China Internet Network Information Center reports that 513 million Chinese are now on the internet. That is from a total population of 1.3 billion.

The report also said that 356 million people log on through mobile devices.

The results could point to far reaching consequences. China has been, until recently, able to censor much of what its population saw and heard from the media and sources outside the country. This gave the government a great measure of control over the opinions of most Chinese As access to the internet growth, an open market for online information is certain to grow, which could be a threat to the political leadership in the world based on population
