China reported fourth quarter GDP growth of 8.9%. The number compared to an 8.7% consensus.
The expansion was at a rate lower than at any time in the last two years. The global capital markets will have to decide if this is a temporary drop or part of a reaction to the drop in GDP on some parts of Europe. The government of the People’s Republic is not likely to take a chance and will ease monetary regulations to put more capital into the economy.
